give a warning message of the ramifications of unlocking an object

Only the user who has locked the item or an administrator can unlock content items. I'm not sure an additional message is necessary. Are you experiencing regular content overwrites?

ie. a confirmation dialogue box asking if the user wants to proceed, and warning that they may override the changes of another user
