Selected elements from library not appearing in parent window

When I select an element for a page, e.g. an image, from the library and then close down the selection window to return to the parent I don't see my selections. If I come out the page and then come back in again they appear.

I'm occassionally seeing an error as well referring to the AJAXIMPORTER . I've not seen this recently though so I'll drop it in here once I do.
